How did the Czech people react when Alexander Dubcek was replaced by a Soviet leader?

There was a reaction of national outrage.

The Prague Spring was crushed by the Soviets in August 1968 as Soviet tanks moved into Prague. The Czech people were outraged but could do little in the face of such massive military might. The West made it clear they would not intervene.

One of the most symbolic acts was the self-immolation of a Czech student Jan Palach in Wenceslas Square.
