How do you simplify square root of 24 divided by 2?
## sqrt(6) ##
Btw, if I put numbers in brackets next to each other, it means times them together, I'm arguing with the soft ware.
Well to simplify the square root of 24, you think of square numbers that are factors of 24. Square numbers, 1, 4, 9, 16, 25 ect... The factors of 24 are 4 and 6, 12 and 2, 1 and 24, 3 and 8, (There may be more) 4 and 1 are in both places but not 1 is always usefyl in simplifying a square root. so ##sqrt((4)(6))## But as 4 is a square number, you can square it and move it out of the bracket, so ##2 sqrt(6) ##, now dividing that by 2 is simple, be cause ##2 sqrt(6) ## is 2 lots of ##sqrt(6)## so halving 2 lots of some thing leaves 1 of it, so its just ##sqrt(6)##.
Aw lovely, I hope you now understand.
