How do you write an equation in slope intercept form given ##y - -1/4 = -3(x + 1/4)##?
intercept form is ##y = mx + b##, so the y has to be isolated.
##y + 1/4 = -3x - 3/4##
##y = -3x - 3/4 - 1/4##
##y = -3x - 4/4##
##y = -3x - 1##
Practice exercises:
-
Convert to slope intercept form: ##y + 3 = -1/2(x - (-4/5))##
-
Find the slope intercept equation of the line that passes through ##(5, -2) and (4,6)##.
Good luck!
