How do you write ##y=2/3x+4## in standard form?
##2x-3y=-12##
The equation:
##y = 2/3x+4##
is in intercept form, which is a standard form of equation for a line.
Subtracting ##y## from both sides, we get:
##0 = 2/3x-y+4##
Subtracting ##4## from both sides we get:
##-4 = 2/3x-y##
Multiplying both sides by ##3## and transposing, we get:
##2x-3y = -12##
This is in what some authors call standard form:
##Ax+By=C##
with a preference that ##A## is a positive integer.
Note that:
