How does change in the slope affect the steepness of a line?

If the absolute value of the slope becomes larger, then the steepness of the line on the graph increases.

If the slope changes, obviously the steepness of the line will change. For example, the slope of a line ##1/1## is steeper than ##1/2##. The numerator represents 'rise'(x) and the denominator represents 'run.'(y) Rise is how much it goes up or down, and run is how much it travelled forwards or backwards (in simple terms). So, rise over run = ##x/y##. ##1/1## goes up by one (on the y axis) and then goes to the right by 1 (on the x axis), whereas ##1/2## goes up one (on the y axis) and goes to the right 2 (on the x axis), going up at a more gradual pace.
