How does the first law of thermodynamics apply to photosynthesis?
In photosynthesis - light is converted into chemical energy which proves
First law of thermodynamics states that the energy can neither be created nor be destroyed, it can only be transformed from one form to another!
In the process of photosynthesis, plant absorbs sunlight (light energy) and converts into the energy that the plant needs to process and in turn it generates chlorophyll. Thus the entire plant gets the required energy for the plant growth.
This says that one form of energy - light energy from sunlight is converted into chemical energy which is nothing but chlorophyll.
Hence, first law of thermodynamics is applied to photosynthesis.
