How successful Arab Spring would have impacted the United States?

How successful Arab Spring would have impacted the United States? If progressive groups had been able to make Libya, Egypt, Syria and Saudi Arabia more democratic, would that benefit the United States? Should we care about the suffering of those who are oppressed by those regimes that won out and have since attempted to stamp out democracy in favor of theocracy?
