Forum: Self-Classification on Level of Computer Skills (I am an apprentice/ 500-word discussion board)

What is your current level of Computer Skills?  This is a Self-Classification or self-assessment.  Please tell us which of these classification categories would best describe your skill level.  AND, please explain why you chose that category.

In the ancient craft guilds, and in many modern skilled trades, there were 3 basic levels of skill.  A beginner or novice was an Apprentice, who was first learning at the beginning level of experience and knowledge.  When sufficiently skilled, one would become a Journeyman, who knew enough to apply basic skills on problems and find solutions.  The Journeyman continued to refine skills and learn, under the direction or guidance of a Master, and often taught or minded beginning Apprentices.  The Master craftsman could lead project teams and guide the learning of Journeymen, having the knowledge, skills, and experience to solve difficult problems and yield productive results.

With respect to computer technology (both hardware and software), do you consider yourself to be: an APPRENTICE? Yes because I am just starting to learn.

And, please tell us WHY you choose that category for your self-classification?  What in your experience and background leads you to make that selection?  (So, please briefly tell us your technology story [as opposed to your social story, which was the subject of your Introduce Yourself discussion item].)

Are your expertise on computer hardware and computer software at the same classification level? (Yes I am on the same level all-round)
