I am beginning on my applied management project. The first step is to create the "proposal" for the project. I'm very confused regarding what all goes into the proposal. The instructor is requiring 10 annotated references and indicates the paper to be three to five pages in length. I know I have to list these references in an annotated bibliogrophy but do I need to include them wihthin the body of the writing of the proposal as well? I feel like by using all of these references in the body of the proposal I will be writing the research paper instead of the proposal. I'm wondering if I just state my problem and what I am proposing to fix without including references in the body of the paper. In the end, my question is: can you tell me what should be included in the proposal and what I should do with the references (in the body of the paper, in an annotated bibliogrophy, in a reference list, a combination of these)? Thank you for your time. Below are the instructions for the assignment
- In your textbook, The Manager's Bookshelf: A Mosaic of Contemporary Views, read:
- Part 2, Reading 1, "The Practice of Management"
- Part 2, Reading 3, "Out of the Crisis"
- Part 2, Reading 4, "The Human Side of Enterprise"
- Identify an organization in which you are actively involved or that has information readily available for research.
- I must Prepare an Applied Management Project Proposal specific to a problem or recent challenge that you have identified within the organization. Use the Applied Management Project Proposal Template.docx to complete the proposal.
- Several areas where problems may occur are identified in Part 2, Reading 1, of the textbook:
- Outward looking—both influenced by and shaping their external environment
- A social institution—created by people; contributing to society
- Pursuing multiple goals—both financial and nonfinancial
- Innovative—emphasizing creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship
- Focused—answering and aligning resources to the question, "What is our primary business?"
- Spirited—creating self-controlled and motivated managers
- Your proposal should articulate why the project is a management concern and take into account the managerial structure and theory discussed in your readings.
- Your proposal must also include 10 research sources in an annotated bibliography. Please review the instructions and sample of an annotated bibliography using the APA Annotated Bibliography.pdf.
- For assistance with formatting, visit website for apa Style Central from the Off Campus Library Services page. apa Style Central is a personalized, interactive learning and writing tool for APA.
- Your completed proposal should be three to five pages in length.
- When you have completed your assignment, save a copy for yourself and submit a copy to your instructor using the Dropbox by the end of the workshop.
