I am doing a research essay. The novel is 7 steps to heaven by Fred khumalo. I have to critically discuss the different meanings of release throughout the novel. Examples: Ramu the Hermit's sense of release of his long suppressed desire whirled around his groin, pg 129 in the novel. The Reverend Tembe of the Anglican Church's release from the Shebeen's femme fatale is Sis Lovey. And the life-changing fact that gains significance because of a historical fact ; " I lost my virginity on the same day Mandela was released from prison" (94)
