James Joyce’sUlysses is not an easy text to read by virtue of its stream-of-consciousness style. Leopold Bloom is intended to be “the most ‘complete’ man in literature, shown in all his aspects—coward and hero, cautious and reckless, weak and strong . . .” (Greenblatt et al., 2012, p. 2278).

Based on what you learned in the introduction to the work, and with the help of the extensive footnotes, which aspects of the Bloom character were most apparent to you?
