I am taking a Political Ideology class and we are studying Welfare Liberalism and Libertarianism this week.

I am taking a Political Ideology class and we are studying Welfare Liberalism and Libertarianism this week. The lecture spoke of negative freedoms and positive freedoms, and the text quickly references them. I think a government tool that reflects a negative freedom would be the right to a jury trial since that is a law put in place to combat discrimination. Conversely, I would think an example of a positive freedom would the right to vote. It helps to ensure that all people can lead a more fulfilled, meaningful life.

But are there any more recent examples of this? Obamacare a positive freedom and maybe the Civil Rights Act a negative one? I just want to make sure I can understand and apply the concepts.
