I am writing a paper on grief and bereavement in elderhood and how it affects psychosocial development (immortality vs extinction) and how attachment styles affect the ways in which the elderly grieve. Having a hard time finding materials regarding this subject. In particular, if a person has a secure attachment style and is in elderhood, do they regress to identity vs role confusion because they must learn who they are as widows/widowers? How does attachment style affect the grieving process?
