I’m currently taking a course “Applied Math For Musicians” that deals a lot with music and math. So if you think you have a strong music theory and math background, please respond at your earliest convenience. Here’s the question:

The Just Intonation Tuning Frequency Ratio for a major seventh is 15/8. The Harmonic Series Frequency Ratio for a major seventh is 11/6. If you are tuned to Db in each case, then the interval going from Db5 to C6 will be how many cents sharper when Just Intonation Tuning is used than when Harmonic Series Tuning is used? Round to the nearest cent.

Note: I believe this is the formula for this, but I’m not completely sure.
