i need a analytic essay on poem a valediction 1000 words  and need to get 100% on this i provide my notes and my class slides

notes: A Valediction: 1633, England

Virtuous men= clergy

He is saying goodbye to convert the unfaithful

A speaker is a religious man(clergy) he's comparing himself(also missionary)

christianity=value, war is over when people accept Christianity cuz England owns the church.

The writer became the head of the church at the time

A valediction is an ideology a lecture that is aimed towards supporting and bolstering the institution of power; empire + Christianity

Forbidding is imposing the structure of power

He goes and tells his wife cuz he wants to humanize himself to the people watching him. To disguise his intentions.

The woman is his wife because marriage allows them to touch their religious

“Let us melt” is showing they are one entity and that they need to be like virtuous men. Although women are never popes or heads of the church, that is a problem; deduction. He is saying that his wife needs to put aside his femininity and abduct qualities of virtuous men to be worthy of our love

Now, so what? Why?

He keeps going after the first 2 stanzas because he wants to target a broader audience

The second point in line 12 is that these motions (unlike the earthquake) are "innocent." Not innocent like guilty/innocent, but innocent as unseen or unnoticed. We are innocent of these all-powerful forces. Earthquakes are all shown, but the motions of the stars are subtle and quiet. Earthquakes, in other words, are shallow.

The larger meaning is he's using science towards them to what they don't understand because he's in power

Stanza 4-5 is explaining how strong Christianity is by expressing love; no physical love

The use of scientific language is a condescending tone because the ladies don't know what he is saying, making femininity feel inferior and he is in authority.

Show observation, semantic field, premise for your argument: to reaffirm the firmness of the dominant male centered social structure

5 paragraph essay if you can, each body paragraph backs up a word in your semantic field, conclusion don't summarize, present a coherent solid understanding of the text
