The general mission can be summarized into the rescuing, treatment, provision of care and releasing of Otters that are injured or stranded back to the wild (Monterey Bay Aquarium Foundation 1).

2. In reporting a stranded Sea Otter, one follows these steps:

a. Avoid touching the Otters or catching it as one may get hurt from the animal’s bites, besides being illegal.

b. Restrain all other persons and pets from the Otter. Subsequently, avoid covering the Otter with anything like a blanket as the same may cause to overheat quickly.

c. Contact the respective agencies to report the incidence of the stranded Otter, who will then come and rescue the stranded animal.
