Abstract
Everybody procrastinates, it doesn't make a difference who you are. Procrastination spreads, sort of like an infection to different angles and if you are not able to control it, you'll begin procrastinating to an ever-increasing extent. This leaves you with less time for your other tasks that need to be done. You are surrendering that opportunity to accomplish something different rather than getting on with that task. This can create some serious stress for yourself as well as other people. It is also something many individuals don't consider or comprehend because numerous individuals say they work better when the pressure is put on them. In fact, studies show that individuals do not work better while under pressure after all. Individuals work better when they have more available time to do so when they are stress-free and have a clear head to think about the task. Procrastination can cause such a huge number of issues; one main issue is that it may cause you medical problems. Procrastinating too much can cause yourself to much stress that may affect your mental health. This makes one wonder, for what reason do we procrastinate in the first place?

Some individuals feel that a certain task may be unpleasant or overwhelming. Others may not have the foggiest idea about what will happen or what they will experience when going up against some certain tasks. Some individuals tend to not enjoy change, this causes them to be set in their ways and they would prefer not to change at all. Some individuals end up being too much of a perfectionist. On the off chance that they are not able to get it right, they may not even attempt the task at all. I figure everybody ought to have a sound measure of perfectionism, but too much, may cause you to put tasks on hold just because you feel you can't do them the way you would have preferred them to be done.
We have all heard of different phobias, well there is one that ties in with procrastination, for which is named 'Atychiphobia' which implies the fear of failure. As Aitken says, "The higher the possibility of rejection (real or imagined), the more likely it is that the individual will experience anxiety as he approaches the task. Since even thinking about the task would evoke a feeling of anxiety, the procrastinator starts an alternate task or distraction" (Aitken, 1982). Atychiphobia could happen because of an experience that one may have had and tries to avoid it, preventing it from happening again. Individuals with low confidence regularly think little of themselves and may not achieve tasks to their full potential persuading more fear of failure. Many don't grasp that their self-confidence in completing the task is important, as it will influence their actions towards even getting the task done.
Individuals who do not procrastinate tend to have more medical issues and stress, however, they do complete the work as fast as possible. Procrastinators will endure a higher feeling of anxiety towards things done in a hurry. It is significantly hard to complete some tasks when one gets increased feelings of anxiety from an approaching deadline.

As a conclusion, when we procrastinate, it may cause us more damage than it does any good. Procrastination is hard to avoid because it has to do with our personalities. Personality is formed throughout our younger years and is relatively difficult to alter after becoming an adult. Procrastination is likewise caused by your mental state. With respect to their health, in general, procrastinators confront a higher amount of stress when compared to non-procrastinators. To sum it all up, the act of procrastination brings contrary to impact to a great number of people, it is troublesome yet not difficult to be avoided.
