Abortion would help save lives In this argument, the medical practitioners look at abortion as being able to help save a life in a situation where the child is endangering the life of the mother. In most cases, this happens when there is a complication on the pregnancy and the life of the mother is at stake. In arguing this out, Greenberg &amp. Bruess (2009) point out the fact that a fetus is not yet a human being. Thus, abortion is about terminating a pregnancy and not terminating the life of a baby. Thus, if there is a chance of saving the life of the mother by terminating this pregnancy, such a situation should call for abortion to be undertaken. 2. Reduction of the injury and deaths caused by unsafe and illegal abortion Because of the condemnation that the practice of abortion has received from the society, most of the women and girls who undergo it do so in unsafe and illegal places. These are places where they feel they are hidden from the face of the society.
