Orthodox Confucians claimed that Mohists would treat their own father as they would treat any old man. Mohists responded that they would treat any old man as they would treat their own father. What do you think? Should we treat everyone without exception exactly the same? Or is it right and proper to treat some people—like our family as opposed to strangers—better than others? Why?
