The extinguisher is mandated be placed at the suitable height so that it is within reach of a person with the capability of operating said extinguisher. The minimum height is four inches from the ground and the maximum height is five feet from the ground. (Sturzenbecker, (2012) The determined height is contingent upon the weight of the fire extinguisher. Signs indicating the location of the fire extinguisher must be in visible areas and be clear of any obstructions that may shield the visibility. One contemplation one must determine is now which are to place the extinguisher. One plausible location to place it is near the pull station. Another credible area is near any points of exit. Extinguishers are supplied with labeling that illustrates directions on use and the type of fires that can be extinguished. 

Now onto the next important set of safety measures, which is of absolute necessity for successful extinguishment, the proper way to use an extinguisher.
