QUESTION

I need this done by tonight.

Develop a thesis, outline, and identify at least five sources for your selected Recovery Plan scenario. The prep assignment is to help you prepare for the final draft of the recovery plan due in Week Five. The instructions and Grading Rubric can be found within the Week Five link of the online course. To create a thorough prep assignment, complete the following tasks:

  1. State your selected emergency response scenario.
  2. Develop a thesis statement. The thesis statement will be the point or claim you argue or prove in your paper.
  3. Develop an outline. At a minimum the outline should include local, state, and federal government response and communication procedures relevant to the chosen emergency response scenario.
  4. Academic Research: Students are reminded of Ashford University standards for academic research, which includes:
  • Primary (original) sources written by experts in the field of study.
  • Secondary sources supported by research in primary sources.
  • Credible sources (experts in the area of study).
  • Relevant research (materials are pertinent to the area of study).
  • Educational websites may be appropriate in some cases but should be evaluated carefully.

The following are examples of what is not acceptable for academic research and referencing:

  • Encyclopedias
  • Dictionaries
  • Wikipedia, other wikis, or blogs
  • Websites and other sources that do not provide quality, researched materials (sites that do not use credible sources to support the information in their documents).

All research must reflect professional academic protocol and be formatted according to APA standards as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center (Please see guidelines for avoiding plagiarism). The assignment must be five to six pages in length (excluding title and reference pages) and should include a title and reference page formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. The reference page must include at least five academic sources. In addition to the required APA citation for each source, the reference page should also include a summary of each of the selected sources. The summaries should include the following information:

  • The author(s) of the source
  • A brief explanation/summary of the source. (Identify what the article is about or explain what the author tested, etc.)
  • A brief explanation of how this source will contribute to your Final Recovery Plan.

The TOPIC:

Chemical Scenario: Chemical Attack on the Super BowlThe New England Patriots are taking on the New Orleans Saints in the Super Bowl, located in the Louisiana Superdome. The Superdome’s capacity for a football game is approximately 72,000; and the stadium is packed to capacity with excited football fans.

At the beginning of the second quarter fans report a bitter almond smell coming from both the men and women’s bathrooms. Hydrogen cyanide (HCN), a colorless gas form of cyanide, has been released into the stadium via the vents in the Stadium bathrooms. Fans that have visited the bathrooms are experiencing the worst symptoms, while all fans and players are beginning to display symptoms of cyanide poisoning.

Create a recovery plan based on this scenario, which is specific to a chemical attack. Address all of the necessary criteria for the Recovery Plan as it relates to this chemical scenario.
