While reading the influence I picked about would be self-disclosure when appropiate. Speaking of self disclosures one time that I misperceived someone self-disclosing to me would be when my sister-in-law said something about talking and messing around on her husband and i misperceived it to where she was actually doing it and I stopped all contact with her and I told my husband (whos brother's wife). I could've just communicated it with her and asked her what she actually ment when she said it. Which I eventually did.
