I didn’t even know about it, although I had heard my friends mention its name before(Swartz, 2007).. It was on very beautiful scenery, quite spectacular, in fact. Maybe that’s why so many people talk about it. The restaurant offers a variety of services and they also supply to schools and other institutions the same products, and it’s generally known for the “great” fish they offer. The menu has a lot of variety and everyone is guaranteed to get satisfied. There are traditional dishes, different types of fish and also the vegetarians are also not forgotten. I decided to have one of the local fish, which are caught from the lake hardly fifty meters from the restaurant. The food in this restaurant looked so delicious. at this point I drew on the concept of habitus proposed by (Bourdieu, 1990) to explain how physical and cognitive ability and explicit knowledge are embedded in practice. I realised that the practice of cooking in this restaurant takes place in a particular manner. Where the rules are socially and historically built at a global level, and adapted by every other cook. As defined by Bourdieu, habitus in cooking is a mix of personal predisposition, and the skills are acquired through repetitive practice, training and knowledge of the rules integrated and internalized by chefs. On this compound there were also a lot of activities for children and grown-ups. The children had a variety of games to play. If one was to describe this restaurant, it can be said that it is well layout and big. There is the main restaurant building surrounded by green grass with a children’s playground. In addition there is a tennis court and you are also allowed to rent fish rod and practice how to catch some fish. The waiters were neatly dressed and they move fast and are always alert. By looking at the parking lot the first thing I notice is that the parking lot is composed of very expensive vehicles. Most of the children who were playing on the green grass looked well groomed, the way they were carrying out themselves in a very respectable manner, one can tell that they are coming from well off families. The customers in this restaurant seem to be respected people, their clothes look expensive and most of them are wearing expensive jewellery. Though one thing I realised that most of the clients and staff in this restaurant are Asians, therefore quickly I realise that the kind of culture and educational capital required to negotiate this site is that of an Asian and from the menu I can tell that the restaurant is for the upper middle class. If I was to recommend a friend to any restaurant it would be this one, I thought to myself, because the service being offered is ok. From the time I walked into the restaurant I realised that this place I want to be in. The next restaurant I visited is called Beach Walk Hella. it is located twenty kilometres from the three way restaurant. The customers here look many than the first restaurant I visited, most of the people were composed of children, university students whom I can tell by the bags they were carrying and some are adults. The kids were playing on the green grass, while some teenagers were busy playing tennis and the rest of the people were either taking drinks or eating food(Swartz, 2007).. It looked quite different from the first restaurant, in that it was a little bit noisy and everyone was doing something different.
