The women are what give this book its true meaning about the feelings of myth. They are the ones who are the basis of the families, and also the ones who are constantly trying to keep the peace between everyone. If it was not for them, there would more than likely be constant war. There are a lot of times even in this day and age where women go unnoticed without getting the proper credit they actually deserve. So, as we read about the women in these myths it is naturally a good feeling to hear about such uplifting, and motivational acts. These women have many different mysteries, and as the book states “even though we do not know their origin or language, we can only suppose it is from the Indo-European family” (Lawall 77).

In Lysistrata, women are portrayed to be loyal to their husbands, and respectful to the nation. These are the kind of women that will always stay beside their people whenever they may be needed, and they are not going to run in the sign of trouble. There are some men that are not even as brave as these women are. By serving as a basis for education these women played a role in the development of Greek civilization (Lawall 83). So, you can plainly see these women were not only loyal, but were also very educated women. In the Odyssey, women brought the meaning of faith into the eyes of their men as far as making the best relationship with God.
