In 300 words, please provide 2 positive & 2 critical comments to the following paragraph: In addition to understanding the KSA’s a position requires, job analysis helps HR professionals create accurate job descriptions. Accurate job descriptions provide current or future employees a realistic job preview (RJP) and prepare employees for what to expect in each position held within an organization. In addition to preparing employees for what to expect, according to Kupperschmidt, the RJP literature affirms that realistic job previews promote coping strategies, decrease the fear of failure, and increase satisfaction and retention (2002). Furthermore, while performing job analysis with the hope of providing accurate job descriptions, organizational leaders may discover nuances of a job to which they were unaware and either add those to the job description or reassign those tasks to a position/employee that makes more sense for the employees and the organization. While the ability to pinpoint KSA’s and provide accurate job descriptions is a large benefit or performing job analysis, perhaps the most compelling argument for performing a job analysis is to provide evidence of ethical hiring and pay practices. According to Martocchio, while it is not required by government, conducting job analysis increases the chance that employment decisions are based solely on pertinent job requirements (2011, pp. 130-131). Job analysis could provide explanations for differences in pay, reasons why one might not be qualified or able to perform the job, etc. In addition, Martocchio also suggests organizations perform job analysis to ensure they are in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (2011, 131).
