• We know that the “founding fathers” who wrote the important documents of United States, the documents that praised freedom, we know that many of those men owned slaves, and they profited from this system.  Does knowing this fact change the truth of this statement from the Declaration of Independence?

• Think about a leader who changed his or her mind about an important issue.  How did this change affect your opinion of that person?  In what ways was the change of heart handled well?  How could the leader have handled the change of heart differently to maintain effectiveness?
