In some countries, and yes including America, marrying your first cousin is legal. Seriously. To many of us, this is an incest. Agreed? Yes, ethnocentrically speaking. Keep in mind that American laws are based on legal vs. illegal acts, whereas laws of many of other countries that allow such marriage are based on morality. Which do you think treats women better, countries where the basis of their laws are legal vs. illegal or countries where the basis of their laws are moral vs. immoral?
