In what circumstances can farmers come out benefitting from a bumper crop, even when we know that bumper crops results in low prices?

Suppose the US buyers are offering much higher prices for the wheat, what do you think will now happen in Canada? Another assumption: what if the US decides to import most of its wheat from France to make up for the shortfall instead of from Canada?
