I had the chance to negotiate the price of a gold chain at a shop, while on a business trip in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).  I found the experience quite frustrating, yet exhilarating at the same time. My colleague and translator assisted me with the process, which helped me successfully attain my goal of purchasing a unique gold chain for my wife at a great price. Discuss any experiences you have had with retail negotiations outside of your home country, including the style you used and the outcome.
