The second article on the Week 3 Learning Resources page is "The Good Cop: Knowing the Difference Between Lawful or Effective Policing and Rightful Policing" (the link is below)

The past couple of years have seen an erosion of trust between the police and the general public.  This isn't the first time in US history, but as a "current issue" that continues to make news, it's a good time to look at how we "measure police effectiveness".

After reading this article provide your response to the following questions: 

a. Compare and contrast "Lawful/Effective Policing" and what the author calls "Rightful Policing".

b. Which do yo think is the best way to measure our law enforcement system in the US? Explain in detail.

Answer each part of the Discussion Question thoroughly and substantively, citing sources for any assertions.   This is not a blog post or an opinion off the top of your head- I expect to see a minimum of 500 words in your initial post, so think it out first.
