This is somewhat different from other disorders we have discussed in the class – it is both a social consequence and a form of impairment (criminal record can reduce opportunities). Why do you think this is part of the criteria? There is no right answer, but do think about how the DSM aims for all diagnosis to be both accurate and specific.
