Lerner and Loewe's My Fair Lady is one of the greatest musicals ever written and a classic of the American stage. It is a musical revisioning of George Bernard Shaw's play Pygmalion (1913) and premiered on Broadway in New York in 1956. It has provided us with some of the most-recognizable tunes in the American popular canon including On The Street Where You Live, Get Me To The Church On Time, and I Could Have Danced All Night. Your written response requires a critical assessment of the show which means that you need to engage with it and critique it (whether positively or negatively.) You need to consider it as we have been considering the creative arts throughout all our discussions and presentations in class this semester. The response must be a minimum of 500 words.
