Option #2: Case Analysis: Thompson Technology

This week you will read a case analysis on Thompson Technology, a fictitious company that is experiencing financial success and has grown to a company of 800 employees.

1. Read Scenario A, Restructuring after a Hiring Freeze:https://www.shrm.org/academicinitiatives/universities/teachingresources/documents/gusdorf_thompson%20technology_scenario%20a_final.pdf
2. In a paper of 7-9 pages in length, address the two questions at the end of the case study. There is a summary provided already but you must provide deeper insights and analysis using scholarly sources to back up your thoughts.
   • Make comparisons between Thompson Technology’s situation to 1-2 other organizations you research. Describe these organizations and provide their website addresses.
   •  To help you in your analysis, ask “what if?” questions that will lead you to consider what could have been done differently, for better or worse.
   • Incorporate what you have learned in this course and what you would do if you were a manager or consultant at Thompson Technology.
3. Include at least four scholarly references in addition to the course textbook and any other professional/trade publications or websites you use. The CSU-Global Library is a good place to find these references.
4. The paper must conform to CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements.
5. Be sure to refer to the Portfolio Grading Rubric located in the Module 8 folder.
