1.         Michelle A. traveled by ambulance to the emergency room for a fall in the bathroom at the place of employment-McDonalds.  She indicates at patient registration that she prefers to be called Mike and is a transgender male.  

Mike is a single 29-year-old female to male pre-operation transgender client. He also has diabetes type I and has an open sore on his foot and takes insulin daily.    He currently takes "T" hormone to promote male features to develop.  He was pushed by a co-worker while he was on break using the men's bathroom.  The co-worker was angry that Mike was using the men's room.

The fall led to a fracture of the right lower leg-fibula and he has to wear a boot and use crutches for the next two weeks.  Mike is very concerned that he will miss work and cannot afford to miss work.  He is also concerned with the work environment-and his co-worker when he returns to work; getting up the 4 flights of stairs to his apartment; and where he will be able to get food as he does not have a car and usually eats his meals while on the job at McDonalds. Mike struggles to financially and emotionally to support himself in all of his daily occupations.
