What is your position on the involvement of corporations in art? Elaborate. Does it affect your opinion of these artists or music?

New Wave” becomes the “next big thing” from a music industry’s point of view. How does a musical style remain fresh and cutting-edge once it has become visible to the public at large? Use more recent styles as examples.

The English punk scene develops out of social upheaval. Groups such as The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Jam, and Siouxsie and the Banshees all come from these circumstances.
