My dissertation's revised problem space: A qualitative approach to enhancing employee well-being through flexible work arrangements in the modern workplace.

1.To guarantee clarity and consistency of my study's main objective, it is crucial to revise the research questions during the research study's design. For reliable assessment, it is necessary to define essential variables like "financial sustainability," "overall productivity," and "job satisfaction" precisely. For the purpose of creating a representative sample, stratification based on variables like firm size, industry type, and geographic location should be used to identify samples, such as companies or certain industries. In these situations, it might be difficult to get representative estimates because of the likelihood that an organization with a given set of company policies will use a certain confidentiality platform (Wang et al., 2019, p. 7). Whether stratified or random, the sampling strategy should be appropriate for the study questions and the sample's makeup.

The study suggests using structured questionnaires or surveys to get quantitative information on employee opinions, financial indicators, and policies pertaining to remote work. An existing questionnaire prepared for one industry may not be applicable to another industry (Mac Guad et al., 2021, p. 2). It is advised to use qualitative data gathering techniques, including focus groups or interviews, to examine the more subtle nuances of organizational changes and employee experiences. To identify themes and patterns from qualitative data, it is recommended to integrate content analysis. Obtaining informed consent from participating businesses and staff, maintaining confidentiality, and anonymizing data to safeguard participant identity are all ethical issues. The study highlights the necessity of taking precautions to reduce any dangers involved and to think about how the research may affect participants.

The research emphasizes the significance of adopting a methodical strategy for assessing qualitative data, including coding frameworks and theme analysis, and precisely defining statistical methodologies for quantitative data. In order to ensure compliance with organizational and legal regulations, practicality in obtaining financial data from businesses must be assessed. The viability of conducting surveys or interviews within the limitations of the post-COVID work environment must be determined. In order to give a thorough understanding, the integration of mixed-methods research is emphasized, with a focus on clearly articulating how qualitative and quantitative data will be combined. Prior to full-scale deployment, it is advised to do pilot testing for both survey instruments and interview techniques in order to find and fix any potential problems. Considerations related to budget, resources, and potential funding sources should be outlined to ensure the effective execution of the research study.

2.Throughout the doctoral journey, the proposed topic of choice has endured many iterations for the better. However, refinement of the questions remains a continuous process. One of the transformations was the development of credible, quality research questions. (Yadav, 2022, p. 688) explains that an essential solid indicator of high-quality qualitative research is trustworthy, detailed research questions. The research questions should evolve from and directly address the identified problem statement.

Answering research questions start with choosing a sample. (Islam, 2022, p. 4) defines a sample as a group used to gather data from a comparatively larger population and is where the participants or respondents for the study are selected. The potential sample would entail 12-15 small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) restaurants and bar and grills located in central North Carolina. The collection method entails one-on-one interviews, and a survey and open-ended questions will be utilized.

Ethical concerns considered are obtaining informed consent from the potential interviewee(s), protecting the confidentiality, privacy, and anonymity of all participants, and also avoiding the misuse of findings and compiling the gathered information appropriately. Feasibility considerations are receiving intellectual support from the owners/managers of the establishments. Finally, another would be time of availability not coinciding between the researcher and participants. Therefore, utilizing technology like FaceTime, Zoom, Google Meet, and WhatsApp can be used as alternatives to conduct the interviews if coordination does not align.
