• Purpose is very important in writing, as is audience; therefore, think about who will read this essay and consider the reason someone should read it.
• Your thesis, then, will consist be formed as follows: thesis = topic + purpose
• Example:
  • Topic: Automobile accident while texting and driving
  • Purpose: To demonstrate the importance of not being distracted while driving
  • Thesis: After my automobile accident, I learned to put my cellphone away and not to drive while distracted.
• Please select your topic and purpose and then construct your thesis statement. Submit your thesis to the Narrative Essay Thesis Statement by 11:59 pm on Sunday.
