Navigate to the general location of Clarkston, Washington and Lewiston, Idaho. Zoom in close enough so that you can clearly see both cities and the surrounding terrain. Notice that there is a dramatic change in local relief (elevation change) to the north of the cities as Highway 95 climbs the Lewiston Grade. Also notice that the Clearwater River flows from the east and the Snake River flows from the both rivers converging at the base of the hill.

.What is the elevation (in meters) of the tallest hill to the North of the river confluence?

.What is the elevation (in meters) of the river itself at the confluence? This is where the Clearwater and Snake Rivers merge and flow toward the Pacific Ocean as the Snake?

.How can you tell the difference between these two rivers at their confluence? (hint: you may need to examine historical images by using the time slider feature)?

.There are a number of bridges that cross the Snake River between Clarkston and Lewiston. Use the measurement tool and measure the length of the southernmost bridge (in meters).

.Locate the CostCo and Wal-Mart stores in Clarkston. Use the measurement tools to compare the area covered by each store's main building in acres and write down each building's area.
