Need an argumentative essay on Critical thinking is a central goal of Jesuit education, and at LMU youll be asked to think critically and intensively in every class. In his essay “What is Enlightenment?” Immanuel Kant said that the great feature of human intelligence progress is to start to think independently, which in fact means to learn how to use the intelligence we all have. Lack of critical thinking&nbsp.is “the inability to use ones own understanding without anothers guidance” (n.pag). That’s why modern education teaches how to be independent not only in informational analysis but also in life decisions in general. But the capability to express yourself freely and to understand everything without somebody’s guidance is not an easy thing to do. This requires a person to take responsibility for the actions and independent (critical) thinking and this is possible only in case the person has a strong character and personality. The situations when we have a choice whether to listen to others’ opinion and rely on it or think a little and take our own position is always very uncomfortable. The thing is that if a person doesnt have a character it will be easier to the one to take somebody’s position because it is difficult not to hesitate and start to think critically. However, when you make decision to think critically from now on you should be prepared with a lot of challenges because nowadays people are also pro critical thinking and they will stand on their positions as well.

As for the situations when personally I used my critical thinking I remember the following one which is quite ordinary and common for many people. A friend of mine once told me some negative gossip about our common friend. On the first sight the situation didn’t look truthful to me but the gossip extended so fast that all the school had already known about it.
