Need help with my writing homework on Climate Change Policies in the UK, EU, US and India. Write a 1250 word paper answering; Due to the continuous effect of human activities, improvement of awareness and implementation of methods to prevent intensification of the climate changes are being undertaken. One important aspect is through the different policies and legislation established and implemented in different countries. The policies countries such as the UK, EU, US, and India are the main focus of the study undertaken.

There are different aspects of being targeted by different groups and nations. One of the most common is the control of emissions of different gases that can contribute to climate change. One example of the said policy is implemented in the EU which is referred to as the EU Emissions Trading Scheme targeted towards the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions which is compared to the UK climate change policies due to complex policy interaction that caused doubts in terms of the implementation and effectiveness of the said policies. The two policies are compared on the basis of the double regulation, double-counting of emission reductions, the equivalence of effort and linking trading schemes can be the main issues that are discussed (Boemare, Quirion and Sorrell, 2003).

The policy being implemented by the UK includes different provisions wherein the instruments such as the Climate Change Levy (CCL), Climate Change Agreements (CCAs), UK Emission Trading Schemes (UK ETS), Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC), Renewables Obligation (RO) and Energy Efficiency Commitment (EEC) are included (Boemare, Quirion and Sorrell, 2003. Sorrell, 2003).

The CCL is a policy referred to as a downstream revenue-neutral energy tax that covers different types of business and the public sector. The CCAs are negotiated agreements that target the energy-intensive industry that commonly provides 80% exemption of the CCL. The UK ETS can be considered different from other policies since it is voluntary and the first trading scheme participated in by different industries in the UK.
