Need to define the genre of writing and mention the linguistic units that prove that.

Here it is:

No wonder the door was closed. The sunrays touched the upper part of the jailed window and gave hope. Angela tried to analyze the situation. She remembered (from a stupid TV show that actually didn't seem such at that moment) that the only possible chance to get out was to analyze each detail and learn the behavior of the kidnapper.

I guess the word "kidnapper" may be treated as a marker of a thriller genre. Not sure if the word "hope" is here a marker of anything.
