Relational Models of LeadershipOverview
In this assignment, using literature of your choice on traditional models of leadership and literature from this unit on relational models of leadership, you will reflect on your propensities to take endogenic and exogenic perspectives within organizational life.
By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies:
- Analyze models of relational leadership.
- Evaluate leader behavior and practice in an inclusionary leadership model.
- Evaluate barriers and facilitators to inclusionary leadership practice.
- Apply inclusionary leadership theories and models to personal practice.
- Communicate in a manner that is scholarly, professional, and consistent with expectations for members of the business professions.
Preparation
After completing the assigned course readings, reflect on your experiences of leaders whose actions were either authoritarian or inclusive. What were the differences in your feelings and in how you and your peers responded to these leaders? Use the Capella library to find research that supports your critical thinking on relational models of leadership.
Assignment Description
Complete the following:
- Describe the primary principles of relational theories. What common patterns or distinctions do you identify in the literature?
- Assess personal and group perspectives to resolve differing views in the workplace. Use a current or past work example.
- Describe personal barriers that prevent adoption of an exogenic perspective. Reflect on work experiences where you were at odds with others. What personal practices can you identify?
- Based on the literature you have read, consider what you can do to become more exogenic in the workplace.
Your analysis should be written coherently to support a central idea, with correct grammar, usage, and mechanics as expected of a business professional.

- Written communication: Demonstrate doctoral-level writing skills through accurate communication of thoughts that convey the overall goals of the analysis and do not detract from the message.
