Lifespan Reflection Assignment

Having explored all stages of the lifespan, this assignment asks you to review three life stages in light of Erikson's stage theory. You can base your review on your own life experience, observation of another person, or by interviewing someone about his or her experiences.

Content Requirements:

Using Erikson's developmental stages, choose any three stages to review. For each stage write at least 400 words in which you:

·        Identify the conflict Erikson described for that stage (use your own words - no direct quotes please).

·        Analyze life events experienced you have experienced or observed within that stage, in light of Erikson's description. Was his description accurate? Why or why not?

·        Examine any impact these events may have had on spiritual development.

Be sure to include:

·        at least one fact from our textbook that supports or refutes Erikson's ideas (no quotes, use your own words and provide an APA formatted citation and corresponding reference).

·        at least one specific personal example that supports or refutes Erikson's ideas.

·        a discussion of any impact these experiences may have had on spiritual formation.

Note: A general outline of Erikson's stages are found on pages 13 and 14 of our textbook. Also, each chapter also discusses Erikson's stages and examines spiritual formation.
