Observing Physical Activity:The purpose of this activity is to analyze how primary age children engage in movement and physical experiences. You will complete this assignment through the following steps:

PART 1: (part 2 is below)

Option 1: You may visit a playground and observe primary age children at play (try to take notes for 15min. + to see changes in students' play).

PART 2: Record the children’s various physical activities. 

- What types of physical activities do the children seem to enjoy most?

- Are school-age children involved in team activities?-Are there gender differences?-Are there ethnic differences? 

- If parents have accompanied children to the park, note the role they take in their children's play. Do they quietly watch or actively direct? Are any comments about the children's activities gender-stereotyped?

4. Write a reflection paper describing your observations and what you learned about the physical development of primary age children. Use the preceding questions to guide your thoughts as you reflect. Please cut/paste the three + videos you used at the end of your paper. This paper should be one page single spaced.
