Overview

For this journal task, you will conduct a self-reflection of your current strengths, weaknesses, and skill gaps related to the behavioral competencies in the SHRM Business cluster. The competencies in the Business cluster are business acumen, consultation, and analytical aptitude. You will identify ways to improve your weaknesses. This activity will help you practice the use of behavioral competencies that you will need to complete your final project. 

Journals in this course are private between each student and the instructor.

Prompt

First, review the module resources, including the text readings and HR model resources.  Next, carefully consider the behavioral competencies or attributes related to the Business cluster as described in the overview.

Conduct a self-reflection and analysis by responding to the following three questions as your journal assignment.

• Strengths: What are your areas of strength in the Business cluster? Describe how you determined this strength. Provide supportive examples.
• Weaknesses: What are your areas of weakness in the Business cluster? Describe how you determined this weakness related to business practices and professionalism. Provide supportive examples.
• Strategies: What are your strategies for developing behaviors related to business and professionalism? Provide supportive examples based on the module content.

Refer to the Module Two resources and other course materials to support your responses. Your instructor will provide feedback pertaining to your self-reflection and offer recommendations for skill development.

What to Submit

Submit assignment as a Word document with double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, and one-inch margins. Dedicate a minimum of one paragraph of analysis for each of the three questions listed above.
