1) Your paper will be 3-5 pages DOUBLE SPACED. The examples I've posted are professional reviews. Therefore, they are restricted by a word count mandated by the professional magazine. I'm asking for at least three DOUBLE SPACED full pages reviewing Stop Kiss.2) I want to hear YOUR voice when writing this review. It does need to have a polish to it, a certain level of professionalism, but I want to hear your particular, unique voice in this paper.3) It is best to write your review immediately after watching the play, that way you don't forget anything. You are free to write on the program the ushers give you during the show. I would actually encourage it, so you don't forget anything in your paper.4) A good structure to your paper will ENSURE YOUR GRADE. Study the reviews I've posted to get a better idea of a theatrical review structure. For me, I enjoy an opening paragraph setting up the evening (what date did you attend, how was the environment inside of the theater before the show started, and a few key points you'll be discussing over the course of the paper). The following paragraphs can delve deeper into your key points: The acting, the set design, the props. But as we're in an acting class, THE MAJORITY OF YOUR PAPER SHOULD BE FOCUSED ON THE ACTING. You could easily spend a half a page for each character in the show discussing what was working and what wasn't working with their acting technique and have at least three pages.5) PLEASE INCLUDE THE ACTOR'S NAMES IN THE REVIEW. As you are critiquing or praising a particular character, it would be beneficial for your grade if you also include the actor's name. Give credit where credit is due.
