Re:Topic 3 DQ 1
The four fundamental ethical Principles includes:
- The Principle of Respect for autonomy -Autonomy is Latin for "self-rule" We have an obligation to respect the autonomy of other persons, which is to respect the decisions made by other people concerning their own lives. This is also called the principle of human dignity.
- The Principle of Beneficence- We have an obligation to bring about good in all our actions. Taking positive steps to prevent harm. There might be conflict between respecting autonomy versus bringing good with our action in some situation.
- The Principle of non-maleficence - We have an obligation not to harm others: "Each action must produce more good than harm in case the violence is non avoidable.
- The Principle of justice - We have an obligation to provide others with whatever they are owed or deserve. In public life, we have an obligation to treat all people equally, fairly, and impartially.
Among these Principles I would place The Principle of autonomy at most important place. I believe respecting each others decision made by competent adult help to solve out any problems.
While in context to Christian biblical narrative including it’s four part Creation, Fall, Redemption, Restoration. According to Christianity I believe doing good to other comes first, respecting others comes second, then causing no harms and treating equally and fairly.
