QUESTION

Paper Popular Review about film

Choose any film released in the last two years that you have not currently written a paper about (release date in 2016 or 2017)

Establish the criteria you are using to evaluate the film and evaluate the film.

A good popular review will be approximately 650 - 900 words and should not include filler words such as "very". It should also not use generic judgements such as "It was great." or "This movie sucked." unless you specifically include the criteria for which you state this; though, these generic judgements show a lack of creativity. Papers must be formatted as a .docx file (Microsoft Word). If you do not have Microsoft Word, you may download it for free from OIT's webpage.

DO NOT WRITE A SYNOPSIS OF THE FILM.  ALL PAPERS THAT CONSIST PRIMARILY OF A SYNOPSIS WILL RECEIVE A 0. (However, it is essential that you give precise moments which reinforce your evaluative claims.)

Do not research this paper, as it is completely based upon your opinion, not the opinion of others. In a popular review, there is an implied works cited of the film, so a formal works cited page is unnecessary in this type of writing.

How this paper will be evaluated:

25%     The paper provides a clear evaluative claim and not an interpretive claim. The paper is based on a clear personal opinion and not that of someone else. The                      paper meets the requirements of the paper.

25%     The paper observes the rules of mechanics. Punctuation is properly used. There are few errors in grammar and spelling. Proper use of capitalization and                            italicization. (All film titles should be italicized, as well as any other book or song titles.)

50%     The paper successfully defines the criteria and evaluates it using concrete examples from the film. The paper follows a logical flow. The paper uses                                  interesting, creative language and avoids generic evaluative statements.

The paper is due no later than 4/28/2017. The paper must be uploaded to Blackboard. NO EMAIL SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Students not turning the paper in, will receive a 0. The paper is worth 100 points.
