Note: The focus of this week's discussion is the Bill of Rights and how it applies to today's technology, particularly the Internet, in relation to the privacy of personal data. I want you to review the Bill of Rights. When you have explored the concepts related to the Bill of Rights, you will understand that it is one of the pillars of the American Legal System. For this week's forum, please state whether or not the Bill of Rights has an impact on the privacy of data in today's technological world, more specifically the Internet. Please explain your reasoning. Do you think that the Bill of Rights should be updated/modified to support current times and technology? Why or why not?

*** Please note that I am not looking for "soap box" responses about the right to privacy in homes, work, or public spaces. This assignment is not about gun rights/control, freedom of speech, etc. I want to know if the Bill of Rights applies to the privacy of data based upon today's technology. Please stay on the subject. Students tend to "wander" to various areas outside of what is required for the forum.

For example, a search of the immediate surroundings as part of a valid arrest is an example of one of these exceptions.

With this understanding that there are established exceptions to the Fourth Amendment, your task for this assignment is to thoroughly review the Fourth Amendment and list the exceptions to it. Write a brief summary listing the exceptions and explaining why you think the listed exceptions are permissible.
