PHILOSOPHY: Descartes' view is substance dualism. He believes that the human being is a composite of two separate substances, a mind and a body. The problem is: how do these separate substances relate to each other?Property dualism solves the problem by eliminating separate substances. This view says that the human person is one substance with two distinct sets of properties - a mental set and a physical set. The only problem is how we know that these radically different sets of properties inhere in the same substance. This is still a dualism but it is a weaker form of dualism. What do you think of this?
